AGUASCALIENTES

Aguascalientes means "Hot Water"  It gets it's name from hot springs that can be found there.

Aguascalientes is 6184 feet above sea level.

In April each Aguascalientes hosts one of the largest fairs in Mexico.   It is called the Feria de San Marcos and is named after the patron saint of Aguascalientes.  This year the dates are from April 15 until May 10.

The estimated  population is 862,335

Aguacalientes has several professional sports teams.

The Panteras (Panthers) is the local basketball team. They have several players from the U.S.

The HidroRayos is the soccer team that plays in the top division in the Mexican Soccer league which is called futbol.  

The baseball team is called the Rieleros and plays in the Mexican Baseball League.

Bull fights are a common event.
